Gracie Glynel Turner, 79, of Orange, Texas, passed away on April 27, 2019, in Orange.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 30, 2019, at Sycamore Cemetery in Burkeville, Texas with burial will follow.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, April 29, 2019, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Wiergate, Texas, on March 12, 1940, she was the daughter of Richard Owers and Mavis (Whittington) Owers. Gracie loved spending time with her family, and being surrounded by those she loved. She enjoyed bowling with her friend of 72 years, Dorothy Burke, and her “council meetings” with neighbors. Some of her hobbies included shopping, gardening, sewing and crafting; always having something new to work on. Gracie had a heart made of gold and will be missed by all those who came to know and love her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Mavis Owers; brothers, Roy Owers and Harold Owers.
She is survived by her children, Vicki Mowery and husband Paul, Toni Thompson and husband Don, Marla Myers and husband Jeff, and Mike Turner and wife Brandee; sister-in-law, Patsy Owers, all of Orange; grandchildren, Cassi Dillard, Justin Dillard, Jared Thompson and wife Dana, Lindsey Garrett and husband Bryan, Kyle Thompson and wife Whitney, Christian Ferguson and husband Josh, and Brandon Penick; 9 great-grandchildren and nieces.
The family wishes to acknowledge, with grateful appreciation, the love and care provided to their mother by her caregivers, Kindred Hospice, as well as The Meadows of Orange.
