It was always fun growing up to visit the Sanderson house. A special memory of Glenn is that one evening three of us young cousins about 9 or 10 years old went to a movie- it was a scary one- “Night Has a Thousand Eyes.” After the movie, my cousin Joyce and I were scared to walk to her house in the dark, so Glenn agreed to walk us home and then he had to walk home by himself! Kindness and bravery.

He’s still Mr. Sanderson to me until I know for sure that he can no longer smack me with a ruler before I snatch a piece of paper from beneath it!! Godspeed Mr. Sanderson you were an awesome teacher and a real blast to be around. One thing is for sure, I won’t receive another “Turkey flag”! Love, Kevin “class of ‘77 Bullpup”

Mr. Sanderson was my History Teacher at C. O. Wilson in 9th grade. Found newspaper article I had kept for winning Chip Tossing Contest. He was a fine teacher. We were both left handed and we laughed we were the smartest. RIP Mr. Sanderson. You were a great man!!!

The Sanderson home on Chicago Street in Nederland was my second home. And Glenn was my running buddy. It started in Little League on the Dodgers and then moved to Babe Ruth and the Tigers. He was a left handed pitcher who could throw hard and sometimes got the ball over the plate. Later it was high school sports. And double dates. And setting off aerial bombs in downtown to get the police to search for the culprits. We plotted for an entire summer as to how we could slip 200 pounds of ice into the baptistry at First Baptist Nederland. He had a big laugh which was a sign of a big heart. He had a passion for kids and education--and horses. So, Pat, the children, Smokey, Vivian, Gary and Bob, please know that Liz and I are thinking of you in this time of sorrow and loss and hoping that one day we can laugh again together as we think back on the good times we shared with Glenn. He would have it no other way. Tom and Liz Hanna.

Prayers to family and friends. Mr. Sanderson was my 9th grade history teacher at C.O. Wilson. I remember him encouraging us to wear our University of Texas, or our Texas A&M t-shirt to school to show our team support for the big game! During lunch period that day, our cafeteria looked like a sea of orange and maroon. 43 years ago.. I've never forgotten him.
