Glenn Franklin Curran
April 9, 1948 – April 1, 2026
Glenn Franklin Curran—a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend—passed away peacefully on April 1, 2026, in Orange, Texas, just days before his 78th birthday, surrounded by his loving family and his faithful little buddy, Lucki, who never left his side.
Born and raised in Orange, Glenn lived a life defined by quiet strength, unwavering integrity, and a deep love for his family and community. Glenn proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam era, earning multiple honors for his courage and dedication. He was later transferred to the Marine Corps Reserve Forces and also served in the United States Coast Guard. His commitment to service did not end there, it followed him home, where he worked for many years as a lab technician at DuPont and faithfully served his community as a long-standing member of the West Orange Water Board.
To those who knew him, Glenn was the definition of a true gentleman—a strong, dependable man with a servant’s heart. He was the one you called when something needed fixing or when you simply needed someone to show up. Whether helping a neighbor, lending a hand to a friend or family member, or supporting the Valentine’s rush at Heaven Sent Florist, Glenn gave freely of his time and energy. He could often be found in his shed, working with his hands, creating, fixing, and finding peace in the simple things.
Affectionately known as “Dad” and “Grandpa,” Glenn’s greatest joy was his family—especially his children and grandchildren. He loved them in the most meaningful way: by being present. He showed up consistently, always ready to share wisdom and a life lesson, offering guidance and leading by example. Glenn was a man of quiet faith—it may not have been spoken often, but it showed in the way he lived, the love he gave, and the integrity with which he approached life.
Glenn found joy in the outdoors—birdwatching, fishing, and crabbing when he could, spending time at the lake and beach, working in the yard, and planting flowers. He also loved supporting his grandchildren’s sports and hobbies. He was a man of many interests, from his appreciation of firearms and the unmistakable roar of a Corvette or Harley-Davidson, photography, to collecting coins and unique treasures. He cherished his time with the “Supper Club” and was a proud supporter of the West Orange-Stark Mustangs.
Glenn is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Carolyn Curran; his daughters, Vickie Oceguera and husband Beto, and Tabitha Burch and husband Clinton; his cherished grandchildren, Blaine, Jacelynn, Maddie, Chastin, Cameron, Gage, Lilly, Braxton, Brynlee, Chason, and Chrislyn; and his adored great-grandchildren, Dallas and Cohen. He is also survived by his brother, Kevin Curran and wife Charlotte, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and JoAnn Curran, and his brother, Ricky Curran.
Glenn’s life was a testament to love, service, and faith lived through actions rather than words. His legacy will live on in the lives he touched, the family he built, and the example he set for all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, April 25, 2026, at St. Paul Episcopal Church in Orange, Texas.
