Elaine we are so sorry for the lost of your dad. We will all miss him. Everyone knows that you and your mom will be rewarded one day for all the Love and caregiving that the two of you gave to your dad. All the doctor's visit, hospital stay late night getting up or staying awake. Maybe it was to give your dad something to eat or maybe a slip to drink. The two of you are true your dad hero's. Stay strong and in the word, God will never give you more than you can handle. Joy will come in the morning. Pray and pray often.

Mr Roberts was a great man. I remember the first time I meet him,it was like I’ve known him all my life. He was a man that always put others before himself. He took care of all the arrangements when my mother passed and told us not to worry about anything. This man will be missed by so many. Our prayer go out to the family. James and Tootie

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Roberts family, at this time of sorrow. I only met with Mr. Roberts a handful of times. With that being said, it never took long, to find out just how genuine a man he was. This world was a much better place with him in it. Thank you Mr. Roberts, for all you did, and all the lives you touch in wonderful ways. RIP Sir. Sincerely, Bobby and Stephine Adams

Sunday night, my father's soul was freed from this world and he met Jesus with a big hug. My dad was the real deal. A successful two-sport athlete in high school, he never encouraged us to follow that--he wanted us to follow our own paths. He was always there for us. If the band needed a chaperone for a trip or if the Scouts needed a volunteer. he was there. The only question for our schoolwork was "did you do your best?" In his earthly body was a big heart dedicated to his family and his community. He passed days after his 53rd wedding anniversary. He was a servant leader before that term was popular, serving in Lions Club, Kiwanis Club, the West Orange City Council, the Orange County Appraisal District, and judge for the City of West Orange. He supported his family the best he knew how to, running small businesses that allowed a wonderful middle-class life, typically working alongside Mom and occasionally hiring one of his children at minimum wage. While I'm sad that I won't be able to hear any of his dad jokes, his observations on politics, or telling his grandson how proud he was of his accomplishments, I'm happy that he is free of the immodesty and pain that is often modern medicine. His strength endured until the end. There is no doubt that he is in Heaven with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, enjoying his first days of eternity. Thank you, Dad, for caring for us, for being a role model for us, and for your faithful sacrifices for your family and community.

Alan, It is with great sorrow that I offer my condolences to you and Wendy. I never had the pleasure of meeting your dad, but I had the next best thing, I knew you, his son. When I came to Nederland 10 years ago, you were the very first person who said anything to me. I was working on Dana's house and you offered me one of your tools to make my job easier. I'll never forget that moment. I always enjoyed talking with you because we had so much in common; the biggest thing was the love for our parents. Especially our dads. I wish I had met your dad because I would have told him how much of a good man that you are and how you would help anyone in need. As a parent, one of the greatest things we can be told, is how well, their children are thought of. And I know that many many people think the world of you. That is a direct tribute to both your mom and Dad. May your mom, siblings, and especially you; feel God's Love during this difficult time. God Bless you, Alan Roberts!!

This man has got to be the best father and role model that the world has been blessed by having. He has touched so many people with all that he has done throughout his life. As a son I can not even start to share how fortunate I have been to have him in my life. I am going to miss those weekly conversation as well as the positive guidance. Father you will be missed however I know you are already preparing us a place for when we reunite again. With all the love and respect in the world.
