Frances E. Cain, 90, of Orange, passed away on November 5, 2014, at Village Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation in Lumberton.
A memorial service will be 10:00 am, Tuesday, November 11, 2014, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Randy Branch of Wesley United Methodist Church in Orange. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.
Born in Orange, Texas, on February 19, 1924, she was the daughter of Robert Roy Scaife and Bernadette (Landry) Scaife. Frances was a graduate of Saint Anthony High School, a homemaker, and was an avid golfer alongside her husband, Ivan, at the DERA Course and Sunset Grove Country Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Ivan Cain; and seven brothers and sisters.
Frances is survived by her daughters, Sandra Hopkins and husband, Del of Nederland, Cathy Davis of Lumberton, Texas, and Shelley Joy Cain of Beaumont, Texas; grandchildren, Laurie and husband, Erik Sotelo of Rosenburg, Texas, John and wife, Kelly Reese of Austin, Texas and Amanda and Jackie Padgett of Lumberton, Texas; five great-grandchildren; and her sister, Margaret Ruth “Peggy” McCullough and husband, Mac of Orange, as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff of Village Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation for the love and compassion they showed our mother. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church; 401 N. 37th St. Orange, TX 77630.

I had not see Aunt Frances in so so many years. Her brother, Malcolm, was my father. My mother and him divorced in 1958. I have not seen any of the family for years. I talked to Aunt Peggy and Aunt Joanne once in all of those years. But the biggest memory was that Aunt Frances was by Godmother. May she rest in peace
