Ella Mae Collins, 78, of Houston, passed away on July 6, 2021, in Houston.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, July 16, 2021, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be the family of Ella.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Friday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Crowley, Louisiana, on November 16, 1942, she was the daughter of Bill Simon and Laurie Simon. Ella was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother that was known as “Mawmaw” to the grandkids. She loved her family more than anything, and enjoyed spending time with them whenever she could. Ella was also an excellent cook that loved to feed everyone. She was one of the most giving people always doing for others, and was always there when you needed her. Ella will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Laurie Simon; daughters, Donna Morris amd Brenda Smith; siblings, Rena Terro, Helen Abshire, and Rodney Simon.
She is survived by her children, Carolyn Kirbow of Orange, Gary Thibodeaux of Orange, Joe Almaguer and Kim of Houston, and Phillip Almaguer and Shaun of Houston; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Roy Simon; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Services are held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home.
