Edith (Grady) Jonas
Edith (Grady) Jonas, 92, of Bridge City, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2013, surrounded by her family.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 21, 2013, at First Baptist Church in Bridge City with Reverend Bob Boone officiating. Burial will follow at Antioch Cemetery in Buna. Serving as Pallbearers will be Chris Briggs, Justin Briggs, Bruce Stewart, Daniel Frazier, David Jonas, Gene Juneau and Steve Earls.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.

Born in Brownwood, Texas on August 4, 1921, Edith was the daughter of Calvin Caleb Grady and Rosemary (Cox) Grady. Edith graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1939 and was a charter member of Proctor Baptist Church. Edith served the Lord from her youth teaching children and adults. In her later years, she became church Liberian at First Baptist Church in Bridge City. Edith loved her family and church family and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank Jonas; son, Jack Jonas; grandson, Mason Stewart; two sisters and two brothers.

Edith is survived by her son, James F. Jonas of Nederland; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Jody Briggs of Vidor; sister, Ruth Pace; eleven grandchildren; and numerous great and great great-grandchildren.
