Coach McCamey taught me biology and was my driver's ed teacher. When we rode across the Rainbow Bridge he thought it would be hilarious to scream about the time an 18wheeler was meeting us...I threw my hands up in the air and screamed. We both were scared...lol. Prayers of peace and comfort. RIP Coach...you were an amazing teacher.

My mother Evelyn Sechler and I always enjoyed Wayne’s visits and yearly Christmas cards. His kindness and warm smile brightened our day whenever he stopped by. He was a wonderful friend and co-worker of my mother. Every time we drove down Park, we saw his beautiful roses and thought of Wayne. We are so sorry to hear of his passing. Prayers for the family.

Charles Crim class of '61 BCHS. Tom, I still remember how much I hated it when y'all moved to Orange from Bridge City. For a short time you were my best friend. At that age Orange seemed so far away. I also remember Wayne but didn't know him well since he was older. I enjoyed the photos and know well they are just a mere snippet of Wayne's life. There is nothing more honorable than a good teacher and I'm sure his impact will ripple forward for many years. I wound up practicing Dermatology in Beaumont and see that you are in Arkansas. I have a friend who practices Radiology in Mountain Home where Gary is. I'm sure that with Wayne's condition that there has been grieving along the way but still and all it's difficult at the end. Hope you've had a good life; it's obvious that Wayne did.

Mr. McCamey was an exceptional teacher and an extraordinary human being. I had him for Freshman Biology in 1976-77, and that was just the beginning of a friendship I still treasure today. He ran an incredible class, putting up inspirational quotes and sayings every day. His class activities were memorable: we productively worked in groups (rare for that time), we dug in the earth collecting insects for our display boards, we dissected a worm and a frog, touched a live snake, looked at live blood cells under a microscope, watched a video of a child being born, conducted a survey in our community and presented the results in an oral presentation. He showed us home movies from his family’s vacations to interesting places, and he even dared us to taste Limburger cheese. His mind was so sharp, and his eye sparkled with the sheer joy of teaching and learning. There was never a moment of boredom in his class. He was such a kind, playful, creative, loving, and intelligent man: one of the best and brightest teachers I’ve ever known. His genuine friendship and encouragement carried me through some dark days. I have never forgotten him, and I send my sincere condolences to his family. Stacey Moore Peterson, VHS Class of ‘80
