Dorothy Irene Middlebrooks, 86, of Bridge City, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2013, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 31, 2013, at St. Henry Catholic Church in Bridge City with Father Steve Leger officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City.
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.
Born in Manilla, Philippines on August 16, 1927, Dorothy was the daughter of George A. Goynes and Rosie (King) Goynes. Dorothy was an active member at St. Henry Catholic Church for over 60 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James S. Middlebrooks; sons, Stanley, Alan and Mark Middlebrooks; her brothers and sister; and one granddaughter, Robin Middlebrooks.
Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Lynn Linthicum of Nederland, June Guidry and husband, Dave of San Antonio and Donia Newsom of Bridge City; brother, Fred A Goynes of San Antonio; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

I will miss you dearly, sweet Aunt Renie. My fondest memories of you were our family camping trips to the Frio. Aunt Renie and Uncle Jim had the best place, their rv, to play in and sleep in.

My beautiful and sweet Aunt Renie. I will miss you so much and will celebrate your life by trying to be as kind as you were to everyone.
