Connie “Bit” Cox, 70, of Orange, Texas, passed away on March 13, 2017, in Beaumont, Texas.
A memorial gathering will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., on Saturday, March 18, 2017, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.
Born in Beaumont, Texas, on December 30, 1946, she was the daughter of James Bennett and Mary Jo Lista. Connie enjoyed working as a retail manager at M&S Grocery, gardening, sewing, crocheting, and playing penny slots. Her greatest joys in life were visiting with her friends and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Jo and Pete Lista and James Bennett; and her grandchildren, Austin Gandy and Candice Yellott.
She is survived by her children, Rhonda Waguespack, of Orangefield and Stacy Ebner and husband Kyle, of Beaumont; grandson, Isaiah Bennett; and her siblings, Linda Matts and husband Floyd, of Port Neches, Pete Lista and wife Lori, of Orangefield, Mike Bennett and wife Peggy, of Pasadena, Bob Bennett, of Pasadena, and Jimmy Bennett, of Orangefield.
In lieu of bringing food to the family homes, anyone who wishes to do so may bring it to the funeral home for everyone to enjoy at the memorial gathering.

To Rhonda, Stacy, and the family, I am sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. I know that your hearts are broken but rest assured that you have a Blessed Assurance that you will see her again. I know the pain that your are feeling because I have been down this road before. Yes, it is hard but as time goes on God helps us every step of the way. I know that she is going to be missed by one and all, not just family but her friends as well. The holidays and her birthday will be the hardest of all but remember that God said He will never leave you nor forsake you. Trust in God and believe on Him also. You are all in my prayers. Praying for peace and comfort and joy and love. But, also Praying God's will be done in the name of Jesus. Amen!
