Christian Mitchell Meroney, 32, of Austin, Texas, passed away on July 9, 2018, in Austin.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 19, 2018, at First Baptist Church in Bridge City, Texas. Officiating will be Doug Shows. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange, Texas, with a reception to follow.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 16, 2018, at Lake Pointe Church in Rockwall, Texas, with a reception to follow.

Born in Metairie, Louisiana, on November 16, 1985, he was the son of Mitch Meroney and Becky Meroney. Christian was loved by everyone he came into contact with, and had the ability to connect and bond with anyone he met. He had a huge heart, with a special place for his two dogs, Toby and Piper, bringing them everywhere. He was a member of the OrangeBloods Community. Christian was a walking encyclopedia, knowing anything and everything about any topic you could think of. He loved all sports especially The University of Texas, intramural sports, and playing golf. Christian left a mark on everyone he knew, never meeting a stranger. He was an incredible person, who loved his family and God, and held his friends close to his heart. He will be dearly missed by everyone who got the chance to know him.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Monica; loving pet, Toby; grandmother, Emily Weisman; and grandfather, Mickey Meroney.

He is survived by his mother, Becky Meroney and husband Jimmy Croaker of Orange, Texas; father, Mitch Meroney and wife Claudia of South Carolina; step-brother, Jarrod Croaker and wife Lacey of Beaumont; grandparents, Milton Hubbard of Orange, Texas, and Barbara Meroney of South Carolina; fur baby, Piper; beloved friends, Jason Story, Bryce Story, and Jackson Dyre-Borowicz; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Orange County Sherriff’s Office, Austin Police Department, and First Responder Tony Treser. They would also like to thank Jason Story, Jackson Dyre-Borowitz, and Kinsey Stango for their countless hours of gathering pictures and information for services, and countless others who’ve helped and supported the family during this difficult time.
