Bobbye A. Askew

1936 ∼ 2022

Bobbye A. Askew, 85, of Orange, passed away on January 20, 2022, in Beaumont.

Born in Call, Texas, on June 5, 1936, she was the daughter of T.J. Godeaux and Alva Everage Godeaux. Bobbye graduated from Stark High School in 1954, and married the love of her life not long after on July 16, 1954. She was very talented and creative, she could make or craft anything she could imagine. She handmade all of her daughter’s clothes, along with being a seamstress she was an artist, a painter, made ceramics, and designed floral arrangements. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, T.J. and Alva Godeaux.

She is survived by her loving husband of 67 ½ years, T.J. “Jack” Askew; her children, Kristy Harwell and husband J.W. of Vidor, and Terry Askew and wife Raquel of Mauriceville; her grandchildren, Kurt Sheppard, Taylor Weldon, and Gregory Askew; her sister, JoAnn Bradley and husband Luther or Orange; and several loving nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express a special thank you to Mrs. Askew’s caregiver, Lisa.
