Obituary
Bobby Joe Baker, 70, of Vidor, passed away on March 5, 2021, at Baptist Hospital, in Beaumont.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 27, 2021, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Visitation will be at 9:00 a.m., March 27, 2021, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Longbeach, California, on November 25, 1950, he was the son of Willie Odell Baker and Clara (Johnson) Hopkins. Bobby served his county bravely in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a hardworking man, having worked as a shore tankerman for many years. Bobby was a simple man at heart, he loved to play his harmonica and make everyone he spoke with laugh. He enjoyed spending quality time with his family more than anything. Bobby was a kind soul, and will be deeply missed by all who had to pleasure to know and love him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Baker and Clara Hopkins; brothers, Mike Gentry, David Gentry, Harvey D. Ford, Jr.; sisters, Laverne Jackson, and Gail Adcock.
He is survived by his sisters, Verna Bertrand and husband Vernon, of Vidor, Elaine Ford, of Huntsville, Al.; brothers, Lindell Baker and wife Rita, of Fortuna, Ca., Dale Gentry, Jr., of Vidor, Bill Jackson, of Pennsylvania; and many nieces and nephews.
