Artie was a skilled welder and usually found with one of his best friends Carl, learning from him and helping to build boats at Borel Boats. He eventually branched off and opened up his own brand of boats, Sabine River Edition. Artie had a passion for excitement and life, some of his favorite past times include building and collecting classic cars and drag racing. In fond memory of my late uncle, whose unexpected departure I have just learned of, with which it leaves an indelible void. You were a man of captivating charm, with the sharpest wit, and an unwavering confidence, that embodied your strong "take no shit" philosophy. You instilled in me the art of embracing life with audacity, leaving an indelible mark as a fearless mentor who was seemingly always in the pursuit of life. As I bid farewell to the epitome of cool uncles, I hold dear the enduring legacy of your unique spirit and cherish the advice you gave me throughout my life, your words of wisdom will forever echo in my heart, guiding me with the lessons of resilience and fearlessness you often showed me. You taught me the art of being a true maverick, you were my greatest mentor in the school of living boldly Uncle Artie. In losing you, I bid farewell to the coolest uncle a boy could have, cherishing the enduring legacy of your badassery. I shall never let the sun set upon my memory of you and your absence will be deeply felt but always remembered with love. Give Grandma and Paw Paw all my love for me...until we all meet again, sleep well my dear uncle.
With a heavy heart,
Your nephew,
Justin

Artie and I were great friends in High School. When I graduated he was having his first child. Saw him a few times while in college. The last four years I have been trying to get time to go visit him especially after my father died. I told him two months ago I wanted to come visit next time I was in town. I was always rushed when I am in Orange. I hate that I missed catching up. You always think you have time.
Artie you will be greatly missed by all.
