Angela Bernice Yokum

1975 ∼ 2021

Angela Bernice Yokum, 45, of Bridge City, passed away on August 10, in Port Arthur.

A memorial gathering will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Cove Baptist Church in Orange. Cremation will be held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Homes.

Born in Port Arthur, on November 20, 1975, she was the daughter of Jimmy Yokum and Linda (McGuire) Yokum. Angela was a woman that loved to stay busy, especially if it involved the outdoors. Casting a line on a boat, soaking in the sun at the beach, going to flea markets, enjoying Canton, or just have a great laugh while sitting lakeside; if it was outside, Angela was a part of it. She also loved showing off her artist side with crafts or painting and spending time with her loving family, her niece and nephews even dubbed her “GiGi”. She was a light that will be missed by those that held her close.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy and Linda Yokum.

She is survived by her daughters, Alexis Mays and Chrisle Mays, both of Bridge City; three grandchildren, Wyatt Mosier, Rhett LeJune, and Ivy Mays; sister, Sheree Yokum and significant other William Linder of Port Neches; as well as niece and nephews Seth, Melody, and Remington.

The family would also like to extend an appreciation for the love and support that others have shown them in their time of need.

I am so sorry that I missed the Memorial Service for Angela. I was a Campfire Leader (years ago) and Angela was in our group one year. Angela and my daughter Candace went to school together. Candace was working and could not attend either. We are so sorry for your loss and wanted you to know that we have very fond memories of Angela. Linda Kay Burch and Candace Burch Eastman.
