Andrew "Hawk" Allen Guebara

1955 ∼ 2018

Andrew “Hawk” Allen Guebara, 63, of Orange, Texas, was called home by Our Creator on March 28, 2018, in Beaumont, Texas.

Born in Kansas, on February 23, 1955, he was the son of Luis Guebara and Esperenza Guebara. He was exceedingly proud of his Apache heritage, was a Pow Wow Gourd Dancer and a member of the Gulf Coast Tia Piah Society. The Pottawatomie Tribe in Kansas, the Lakota Tribe in The Great Plains, and Murphy Williams and his family of the Alabama Coushatta Tribe of Texas adopted Hawk. Hawk loved fishing, shooting pool, and working as a physical trainer. He was a generous, compassionate healer. He was loved by all, especially his wife, Stacy “Star Dancer” Russell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Luis and Esperanza Guebara, and his adopted brother, Murphy Williams.

He is survived by his loving wife, Stacy “Star Dancer” Russell, and sons, Michael Guebara, Andrew Guebara, Christopher Jackson, daughter, Amber Fernandez Dillon, and his adorable fur granddog Jaxon.

John Keats wrote “She walks in beauty like the night of cloudless climes and starry heights.” Hawk dances in beauty like the night of cloudless climes and starry heights. As he left us he was dancing with his lightning brothers.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday, April 2, 2018, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Cremation is under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Hawk was like my brother that I never had. He was always there to give me the big brother advice when needed. He was a very wise man. Even though he and I didn't get spend a lot of time together in last few years I knew that he was still in my life. I remember one day I was going through something I said to the creator I need a eagle to bring me strength and all of the sudden a eagle appeared on my ledge of my office outside and I knew that was Hawk giving me strength that I needed. Hawk would always appear in different ways and I knew it was him. I will miss him deeply and much. Rest in peace little sis.

Hawk came into my life at a transition time for both of us. Though we were married a short time, he brought wisdom, laughter and love into my life. He will always be a special part of me. Kathryn (Grey Feather)
