Alfred Clark Farwell

1940 ∼ 2026

Alfred Clark Farwell

Alfred “Al” Clark Farwell passed away peacefully on May 3, 2026, at Beaumont Nursing and Rehabilitation in Beaumont, TX.

Al, to his grandchildren Pop Pop, was born on June 22, 1940, in Wilmington, Delaware to Franklin and Marion Farwell. He was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps, and a longtime truck driver where he spent the majority of his career with Sentinel trucking company of Orange, Texas. During his travels he made it his mission to pick out the perfect bell, spoon, keychain, or other trinkets for his wife and grandchildren. Al was a proud member of Little Cypress Baptist Church and choir; even though he informed us he was lip-syncing during performances. You could without fail find him in the kitchen cooking for Sunday morning breakfast, the Men’s Breakfast, and any other event taking place. He was the life of the party, and enjoyed making others laugh by cracking jokes and making silly faces, especially when he took his dentures out.

In his later years, Al enjoyed cooking, being a dessert connoisseur, creating wood-burned crafts for his grandchildren, throwing darts, and enjoying his favorite television shows. He loved animals, and was especially fond of their dogs Jasper and Daisy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his four brothers: Charles, Franklin, Harold and William Farwell. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 42 years, Elizabeth “Betty” Marie Farwell; daughter Samantha Martin and husband Lane; daughter Vanessa Cook and husband Chris; son Jeremy Farwell and wife Tanya; grandchildren Lauren Martin, Zachary Martin and wife Nicolette, Ethan Martin, Justin Cook, Hannah Cook, Clayton Farwell, and Addyson Farwell; niece Ruthie Hughes; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Cremation will be under the direction of Claybar Funeral home. A celebration of life will be on Saturday, May 9, 2026, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m., and service to follow at 11 a.m., at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange, Texas. Those in attendance are asked to wear red, white, or blue to honor Al and the country he loved.

Honorary Pallbearers are Billy Bickham, Ricky Deshotel, Ernie Rodriguez, Juan Rodriguez, Floyd Reeves, and Don Wright.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Elizabeth “Betty” Farwell through Sabine Federal Credit Union.

The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff of Beaumont Nursing and Rehabilitation for making him comfortable in his final days.
