Winnie Russell Ewing, Jr., 95, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on February 19, 2026, at home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 23, 2026, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Officiating will be Brother Darrell Segura and Brother John Bickham. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Cemetery in Port Neches.
Visitation will begin prior to the service at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 23, 2026, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.
Born in Port Arthur, Texas, on June 24, 1930, he was the son of Winnie Russell Ewing, Sr. and Odessa (Huckaby) Ewing. He dedicated his life to his family and community, working as a Foreman for Star Enterprise. His strong work ethic and skilled craftsmanship were evident in all that he did. Winnie served in the United States National Guard, showing his commitment to his country. He was a faithful man who took pride in being a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Winnie was known as “Grandpa” to all the grandchildren and strove to be fair in everything he did in life. His intelligent nature and dedication to hard work left a lasting impression on those who knew him. He was particularly passionate about woodworking, dedicating many hours to his craft. Winnie also served as a deacon at the 4th Ave Baptist Church in Port Arthur for many years. Winnie will be remembered for his hard work, loving spirit, and the positive impact he made in the lives of his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Winnie R. Ewing, Sr. and Odessa (Huckaby) Ewing; daughter, Dana K. Ewing Saenz; grandsons, Joshua Ewing and Jacob Ewing; siblings, Doris Emmel, Estelle Hilbun, and Bobby Ewing.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy F. Ewing of Bridge City, Texas; children, David R. Ewing and wife Karen of Broussard, Louisiana, Michael L. Ewing and wife Patti of Seguin, Texas, Chris R. Ewing and wife Cheryl of Kaufman, Texas, and Chad A. Ewing and wife Traci of Port Arthur, Texas and son-in-law, John Saenz of Bridge City; grandchildren, Garrett Ewing and wife Kristen of Cypress, Texas, Grant Ewing and wife Katie of San Marcos, Texas, Carissa Saenz of Bridge City, Texas, Jordyn McNiel of Groves, Texas, Karyn Morris and husband Tyler of Groves, Texas, Texas, Trinity Hubert and husband Hunter of Groves, Texas, Caleb Ewing of Terrell, Texas, and Hayden Ewing of Kaufman, Texas; great grandchildren, Jackson Ewing, Crosby Ewing, Coen Ewing, Lane Ewing, Zeke Ewing, Brentley Roy, Broxton Saenz, Levi McNiel, June McNiel, Jamie Morris, and Duke Morris; son-in-law, John Saenz; numerous other loving family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Garrett Ewing, Grant Ewing, Caleb Ewing, Hayden Ewing, Brentley Roy, Tyler Morris, and Hunter Hubert.
