Shawn Dylan Dreyer, 21, of Orange, Texas, passed away on June 16, 2024, in Starks, Louisiana.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 29, 2024, at First Baptist Church in Deweyville. Officiating will be Shayne Gonzales. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday, June 28, 2024, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Port Arthur, Texas, on October 16, 2002, he was the son of Melissa Dreyer. Shawn will always be remembered for his vibrant personality and sense of humor. Affectionately known as Shawn-Shawn to his niece and nephews, he was the fun uncle who brought laughter wherever he went. His big smile and loyalty endeared him to many; he was always willing to lend a helping hand regardless the time of day. Shawn graduated from Deweyville High School Class of 2022 with pride. He excelled in sports and proudly played baseball, basketball, and all-star football for Deweyville High School. In his free time, Shawn enjoyed outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, riding the 4-wheeler, and visiting the lake. These adventures spoke to his love of nature and his zest for life. Shawn has left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed by his family members and many friends whose lives he touched with his warmth and kindness.
He is preceded in death by his MawMaw Ann; great grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Porter; great-great grandmother, Edith Elliot; uncles, David Porter and Michael Porter; cousin, Nicole Regal.
He is survived by his mother, Melissa Dreyer; grandparents, Michael and Lisa Gonzales; sister, Shyain Dreyer; uncles, Nick Gonzales and wife, Roxanne, Allen Gonzales and wife, Janet, Henry Gonzales and wife, Breyn; aunts, Susan Porter, Linda Frederick and husband, Charles, Lauren Gilbert, and Brenda Gonzales; cousins, Ciara Perry and Blake Perry, Lauren Whipkey, Josh Whipkey, Brittany Gonzales, Shayne Gonzales and Sunny, Brody Perry , Paisley Perry, Keaton Smith, Kenlee Smith, Braxton Sonnier, Brenklee Schwaab, Keegan Gonzales, Kendal Deloach, Breeana Mays, Aiden Dominey, and Candice Dominey; niece, Brynlee; nephews, Rowan and Logan.
