Ruth Busbee Tindall
Ruth Busbee Tindall passed away June 17, 2007. Born to George and Lily Busbee in Beaumont, Texas, Ruth was their fourth and youngest child. All preceded her in death. She lived in Beaumont until 1945 when she married William Priestly Tindall and moved to Nome, where ?Bill? worked on the family farm, and where they began their family.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at the First Baptist Church in Nome. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home.
Active in The First Baptist Church of Nome, she taught Sunday School and Bible School for many years.
She was an accomplished and talented person and excelled at most everything she attempted. Self taught on the organ and piano, she enjoyed many hours of playing for herself and family. Ruth was an outstanding cook. Her beautiful hand made quilts are cherished by family members for whom she made them. She cast gorgeous ceramic figurines and painted in both oils and water colors. It was her china painting, however for which she was best known. Ruth painted hundreds of original pieces and taught for many years. She twice judged the china painting show at the state fair in Dallas. She was a founding member of the Porcelain Art Club of Southeast Texas. She was honored by the governor of Alabama for her work efforts in bringing china painting to that state.
Of her many accomplishments, she considered her family the greatest. For 40 years until his death she was a loving and faithful wife to her husband, Bill. She daily proved her love for him and their children by her unselfish devotion and care to them.
She is survived by her three sons, William P. Tindall III and wife, Susan, Gerald W. Tindall and Roger N. Tindall and wife, Ann, all of Nome. She leaves six grandchildren, Katherine Tindall, Beth Godinez, Andrea Eubanks, Matt Tindall, Laura Tindall and Bryan Tindall.
The family wishes to express a special thanks to the staff of Country Dreams Assisted Living Facility for their compassionate and loving care extended to Ruth during her stay there.
