Robert “Bob” Jacob Peterson, 77, walked through the gates of Heaven rejoicing Feb 3, 2024, with his wife and girls by his side. His mind and body were restored as our Heavenly Father welcomed him into His Kingdom.
Bob was born and raised in Orange, TX to the late Doug and Jewis (Bass) Peterson on November 29, 1946. After graduating high school, Bob attended college at The University of Texas where he earned his Bachelor’s degree and became an avid lifelong Longhorn fan. He later met and married the love of his life, Donna and together they built and enjoyed their life together for 30 years. They lived in the city and retired in the country just the way they planned. Together they enjoyed travel, good food, reading books to each other, boat rides, camping trips, vacations in the mountains, and a good mosquito fire while star gazing. Our Bob loved music, particularly Willie Nelson, golf and UT football! He had wonderful stories of growing up in Orange and had lifelong friends made there. He loved his time in Austin while attending UT and he took full advantage of life in San Antonio and the hill country making sure to attend festivals, eat good food, concerts, games, and long drives down River Road with Donna. Bob was calm, respectful, listened before he reacted, laughed and loved while living a life of intention. He will be remembered for his kind and gentle soul.
Cremation will be under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home and with accordance to his wishes there will be no service but requests for love, laughter and brisket with your families and friends in his honor.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; daughters, Morgan Harvey and husband, Billy of Orangefield, TX and Brittney Dyess of Lafayette, LA and grandchildren, Tyler, Phoebie, Billy Don and Cora Harvey. He is also survived by his sister, Sharon Schmidt and husband, Buddy and his niece and nephews who were very special to him.
For those that wish, memorial contributions can be made in his name to The Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave. Fl 17, Chicago, IL 60601 or
