Robert Dean Dunigan, aka Deanie and Wrongway, 68, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on July 6, 2025, in Orange.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Officiating will be Brother Mark Taylor. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 11, 2025, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.
Born in San Diego, California, on October 5, 1956, he was the son of Hubert Dunigan, Sr. and Christine Westbrook Dunigan. Robert was a dedicated chemist who retired from Invista. His academic journey began at the University of Arkansas, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in chemistry. Robert was particularly proud of his alma mater and was a fervent supporter of the Arkansas Razorbacks. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Robert was known for his vibrant personality and zest for life. He had a profound love for riding motorcycles, an activity that provided him both exhilaration and a sense of freedom. His adventurous spirit was matched only by his deep appreciation for his friends and family, whom he cherished dearly. Robert was a confidant and a mentor, bringing laughter and warmth wherever he went. In conversations, Robert enjoyed sharing his knowledge and reveled in the fact that he was definitely always right. Those who knew Robert will fondly remember him not only for his intelligence and warmth but also for his unwavering belief in the power of friendship and family bonds. He will be missed dearly by his loved ones and remembered in the hearts of many.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Hubert Sr. and Christine Dunigan; and his sister, Sharon Dunigan.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Dunigan; his sons, Steven Dunigan and wife, Randi, and Richard Dunigan and wife, Barbie; his stepson, Mason Melanson; his stepdaughter, Keelie Ezelli; his grandchildren, Joshua Dunigan and wife, Amiee, Alyssa Morgan and husband, James, Ashlyn Dunigan and Ethan Duhon, and Luke Dunigan; his great grandchildren, Remi, Liam, Reign, and Jackson; his siblings, Hubert Dunigan, Jr. and wife, Brenda, Regena Bryant and husband, Ronnie, Hank Nichols and wife, Sharon, and Terry Nichols and wife, Olene; his very special lifelong friend, Donna Dunigan; and numerous other loving nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Joshua Dunigan, Halton Wynn, Dustin Stout, Jason Rach, Rick Guillory, and David Carcara. Honorary pallbearer will be Richard Henson.
