Rebecca “Becky” Trusty Mazzola, 73, of Orange, Texas, passed into the arms of her Savior on December 1, 2025, in Beaumont, Texas. She was born on December 26, 1951, in Memphis, Tennessee, to the late Robert Trusty and Doris Alexander Boyle. Becky was preceded in death by both her parents and her sister, Peggy Trusty Dunbar.
She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Alfred “Bubba” Mazzola. She also leaves behind her children, whom she adored and referred to as her “pride and joy”: Brandy Slaughter and husband Chris, Kimberly Scott and husband Sean, and Buffy Hooper and husband Ricky. Her proudest title was “Nana” to her 8 grandchildren and their spouses: Bradley Choate and wife Kasandra, Ali Scott, Blaine Slaughter and wife Kate, Tanner Doiron, Brea Scott, Carissa Hidalgo and husband Nathaniel, Brynna Scott and fiancé Cross Cannatella, and Taryn Doiron. She deeply cherished and celebrated her 7 great-grandchildren: Addison, Natalie, and Stella Choate, Beckett and Blair Slaughter, Cielle Hidalgo, and soon-to-arrive Crue Cannatella. She is also survived by her siblings Sandra Morris, Judy Gervais, Brady Trusty, and Betty Trusty, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and memories.
Becky was an extraordinary wife, mother, Nana, and friend. She had the biggest servant’s heart, always rooting for the underdog. She was well known to be a little “extra” as a fabulous homemaker, cook and baker and always shared this gift with her family and friends. She loved a party and lived for any moment that she could spend together with her husband, children, grandchildren, and of course, her very spoiled “fur baby” Gabby. Becky had a special way of making others feel seen and valued, and always found immense joy in creating a home where everyone felt welcomed. Her friendly nature and kind personality left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her beautiful spirit will continue to shine brightly in the memories and hearts of her family and friends.
Funeral services to honor her life will be held on Monday, December 8, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Bridge City United Pentecostal Church and her burial will immediately follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 8, prior to the service.
