Pete Harlan Quast, 63, of Orange, Texas, passed away on March 29, 2026, in Beaumont.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 2, 2026, at Grace Point at Eagle Heights Church in Orange. Officiating will be Pastor Kevin Inman. Burial will follow at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park in Orange.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m.to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at Grace Point at Eagle Heights Church in Orange.
Born in Winnfield, Louisiana, on January 9, 1963, he was the son of Howard Nathan Quast and Joy LaFaye Billings Quast. Pete was a devoted and loving husband, dad, and paw paw. After 43 years, Pete retired from Centerpoint Energy in August of 2025. Pete devoted himself to his work as a Service Tech III at Centerpoint Energy, where his commitment and expertise earned him the respect of colleagues and the community alike. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Pete was a man who found joy and peace in the simple pleasures of life. He loved being in the woods, hunting and spending time with God. He enjoyed fishing with friends and his grandson. Pete’s spiritual life was a cornerstone of who he was. A longtime member of Grace Point at Eagle Heights Church, he served faithfully as a church Elder, a youth and adult Sunday School teacher, the Pastor of Freedom that Lasts, and he also played drums for the worship team. Through this role, Pete demonstrated his profound dedication to guiding others to Christ, helping many find hope and healing. His leadership in the addiction program at GracePoint exemplified his deep compassion and unwavering commitment to leading people toward the Lord, positively impacting countless lives along the way. Pete Harlan Quast’s life was one defined by service to his work, his community, and his faith. He leaves behind a lasting impression of a man who truly made a difference, who embodied the qualities of a leader, a friend, and a devoted servant to both God and humanity. His memory will be cherished by all who had the honor to know him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Joy Quast; his father-in-law, Kenneth Clay Brown; his sister, Rita Armstreet; his great niece, Carson Dickson; and his brother-in-law, Mark Benoit.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Pam Quast; his daughter, Emily Quast Welch and husband, Aaron; his son, Seth Quast and partner, Brian “BJ” Bronson; his grandsons, Drake and Sawyer Welch; and numerous other loving family members and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Aaron Welch, Brian Armstreet, Bobby Ferguson, Brock Dumesnil, Mark Turner, and Jim Clark. Honorary pallbearers are Seth Quast, Drake Welch, Sawyer Welch, Brian Bronson, and Brent Norwood.
A special thank you to our friend, Karen Turner with Harbor Hospice for staying with Pete and making sure that he got the care he needed as he passed. She comforted us and made sure he was comfortable and for that, we are so grateful.
