Matthew Lawrence Lucher, 58, of Orange, Texas, passed away on September 15, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Boa Zampini. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.
Visitation will begin prior to the service at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Orange, Texas, on December 12, 1966, he was the son of Lawrence Paul Lucher, Jr. and Audrey Ann Lucher (Trahan). Matthew was known as a very hard worker and took great pride in his career as an operator for Orange County Road and Bridge. Matthew was often described as an "All American Redneck." He enjoyed spending his free time hunting, fishing, and building guns, activities that brought him joy and allowed him to connect with the outdoors. However, above all, he cherished his role as "Paw Paw" to his grandchildren, an accomplishment that filled him with pride and joy. Matthew will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Audrey and Lawrence Lucher, Jr.
He is survived by his daughter, Lauren Lucher and spouse Chris Hall; grandchildren, Laedin Hall, Staton Lucher, and Raelynn Hall; best friend, Don Flannery; numerous other loving family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Don Flannery, Chris Hall, Tracy Leach, Harold Boozer, David Lampman, Dion Trahan, and Chris Sowell.
