December 15, 1942 — April 15, 2024

Mary Ann McDivitt, 81, of Orange, Texas, passed away on April 15, 2024, in Beaumont, Texas.

Born in Olean, New York, on December 15, 1942, she was the daughter of George Bish and Margaret Johnson Bish. Mary Ann dedicated herself to her work as a secretary at Checci News Agency, starting from her teenage years until her well-deserved retirement. Her dedication and work ethic were truly admirable, leaving a lasting impact on all those she worked with.

Mary Ann was not only a dedicated professional but also someone who embraced life to the fullest. Her hobbies and interests were a testament to her adventurous spirit - from enjoying the thrill of the casino to displaying her bowling skills with grace and excellence.

One of Mary Ann's greatest joys in life was her family. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones and made sure they always felt supported and loved. Her love for dogs was evident to all who knew her, showing compassion not just towards people but also towards our loyal four-legged companions.

Alongside her husband Otto, Mary Ann found solace in nature by camping in their RV. Mary Ann would run the campgrounds in Florida when she and Otto would travel there.

She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Margaret Bish; her brother, Bob Bish; and all of her other brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Otto McDivitt; her daughter, Mary Ann Smith (Swift); her great niece, Sheheira Smith and husband, Walter; her great great niece, Dallas; her great nephew, Michael Wilcox II; her great great nephews, Cody, Corey, and Trent Smith, and Braden and Cooper Wilcox; and several other nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
