Marjorie Ann Frederick, 80, of Orange, passed away on April 14, 2024, at her home in Orange. 

 

Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 18, 2024, at Deweyville Cemetery, Deweyville, Texas.. 

 

Born in Deridder, Louisiana, on January 22, 1944, she was the daughter of William “Bill” Whitaker and Helen Gill Whitaker. Margie was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend to many. Margie’s life was a testament to compassion, love, and devotion to her family. She will always be remembered for the significant role she played in raising not only her grandchildren and great-grandchildren but also their friends, earning her the title of "everyone's grandmother." Her caring and nurturing nature touched the lives of all who knew her. Margie had a passion for singing, despite a self-proclaimed lack of talent in that area. Her joyful voice will echo in the hearts of those who had the pleasure of hearing her share this love. Additionally, she was a longtime member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, where she found solace and community. As we mourn the loss of Margie Ann Frederick, we take solace in knowing that her legacy of kindness and warmth will live on through all those she has touched. She leaves behind a host of grieving family members and friends who will cherish her memory forever. May she rest in peace.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Helen Whitaker; her daughter, Michelle Greenwell; her sister, Brenda Neely; and her sister-in-law, Earlene Marze.

 

She is survived by her loving husband of almost 62 years, Langston Frederick; her daughter, Lois Frederick; her grandchildren, Heather McLaughlin and husband, Luis, Kayleigh Hester and husband, Michael, and T.J. Greenwell and wife, Aliza; her great-grandchildren, Evelyn Hester and Harlow Hester; her siblings, Mildred Creed, Wendy Whitaker, Barbara Whitaker, and Wilton Whitaker; and numerous other loving family members and friends.
