Lynda Gayle Williams

January 1, 1947 — December 18, 2025

Orange, Texas

Lynda Gayle Williams, 78, of Orange, Texas, passed away on December 18, 2025, in Kirbyville.

Born in Altus, Oklahoma, on January 1, 1947, she was the daughter of Ocie Reeves and Serena Babbit Reeves. Lynda Williams was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and member of her community. After a long life of service and creativity, she passed away surrounded by the love of family and friends. Lynda retired from the Orange County Appraisal District, where she worked with care and professionalism. During her career there, Lynda served her community with dedication. Colleagues remember her as reliable and kind—someone who cared about doing her job well and supporting those around her. Her retirement allowed her more time for the activities she loved and for spending time with family and her church. Her faith was a central part of her life; she was a devoted Christian at Family Worship Center and found strength and comfort in her church community. Lynda’s faith was reflected in her daily life—through kindness, service, and a welcoming presence. Lynda had many creative hobbies that brought beauty and comfort into her life and the lives of others. She worked with ceramics and stained glass, sewed and crocheted, and collected and cared for porcelain dolls. These crafts were more than pastimes; they showed her patience, attention to detail, and joy in making things by hand. Friends and family often received treasured handmade gifts that carry Lynda’s spirit and skill. She leaves behind a legacy of devotion, both to her family and to her community. Those who knew her remember a woman who listened, encouraged, and offered steady support. Lynda will be greatly missed. Her family asks that those who wish to honor her memory remember the ways she gave: through simple, faithful acts, through creativity shared with others, and through the love she showed her family.

Lynda was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Williams; her daughter, Della Bland; sisters Joann Barnes and Danette Hall; and her brother, Jerry Reeves. Though these losses were deep, Lynda’s life remained full of family ties, stories, and traditions she passed on to younger generations.

Lynda is survived by her son, Jerry Thomas Williams; her sister, Yvonne Nice; and her brother, Paul Reeves. Her grandchildren—Kristin and Justin Galbreath, Kalyn and Angelic Bland, Jordan and Josh Brown, and Carley Williams—remember her as a steady and loving presence. She also leaves behind great-grandchildren Riley, Brayden, Matthew, River, Whytlee, and Baby Olivia, along with many other family members and friends who cherished her warmth and generosity.

Cremation will be held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
