Lyla Jean Brown, a cherished daughter, granddaughter, and niece peacefully went to be with the Lord on July 20, 2025.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange, Texas.
Officiating the service will be Jeff Trahan.
Lyla is the daughter of Joshua and Mayajean Brown, who held her with boundless love. Though her life was fleeting, the joy she brought to her family was profound. Lyla’s spirit brought light to everyone’s lives, a precious reminder of hope and the beauty of family. The love she inspired will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew her sweet existence. She will live on in every memory, every whispered prayer, every sunbeam that breaks through the clouds.
Those waiting to greet her with open arms are her big brother, Levi Alexander Brown; and her great-grandparents Lawson and Jo Ann Smith, Richard and Jean McFetridge, Felipe and Susana Edem, and Robert “Bob” and Joyce Brown.
She will be lovingly remembered by her parents, Joshua and Mayajean Brown; her grandparents, David and Cecilia Smith, Robert Brown, and Roy and Chrislie Rutherford; her great-grandparents, James and Clara Wilfer; her uncles and aunts, Tyler and Sydney Brown, Seth Brown and fiancé Macy Inman, and Jeremiah Smith.
“Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30 BSB
As we come together to celebrate our sweet baby’s life, we’d love for everyone to wear light, spring, or summer colors instead of black. We want the day to feel full of the warmth and love Lyla Jean brought us, even in her short time here. Thank you so much for helping us honor her in this way.
