Lydia S. Williams, 70, of Vidor, Texas, passed away on November 12, 2024, in Vidor, Texas.
Memorial services will be at 6:00pm, Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont, Texas. Officiating will be Reverend Jana Atkinson Morga.
Visitation will be at 5:00pm, Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home.
Born in Beaumont, Texas, on January 21, 1954, she was the daughter of Charles Martin and Carolyn Martin. Lydia was a dedicated nurse and beloved nursing instructor. Throughout her distinguished career, Lydia was known not only for her clinical skills but also for her compassionate nature. She loved helping people, and her colleagues often remarked on her remarkable ability to connect with patients and their families, providing comfort during difficult times. She cherished her family and her work family, always striving to create a nurturing environment for those around her. Lydia had a fondness for Cherry vanilla Dr. Pepper, many may say that establishments like Sonic may not be the same without her regular visits. Her talent in the kitchen, especially her microwave cooking, earned her praise from family and friends alike, making her gatherings warm and inviting. Many will remember her laughter and the personality that lit up any room she entered.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Carolyn Martin; and her brother, David Martin.
She is survived by her children and grandchildren, Bambi Atkinson and Micah of Hondo, Texas, Tammie Thibodeaux and Blaine of Vidor, Texas, Danny Carter of Vidor, Texas, Merry Carter of Vidor, Texas, Christopher Carter of Port Arthur, Texas, Victoria Santel and Nicholas of Bridge City, Texas, Elizabeth Kourtney and Toby of Wichita, Kansas, Kristi Delacerda of Beaumont, Texas, James Bronson and J.J. of Lumberton, Texas, Chelci Atkinson, Meghan Atkinson-Neal and Buck, Jana Atkinson Morga and Dave, Annabel Everett and Cody, Harley Atkinson, Dagan Carter, Myranda Yates and Alexander, Dylan Carnahan and Holly, Sylvia Frazier, Kaighlen Carter, Christian Carter, James McSwain, and Cason Carter; her 19 great grandchildren; and her siblings, Gayle Severson and C.B., Danni Martin, and James Martin and Nancy.
Cremation will be held under the direction of Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home.
