Laura Belle Dupuis, a cherished member of her family and community, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2025, in her beloved hometown of Beaumont, Texas. Laura was born on December 18, 1936, in Eunice, Louisiana. Laura lived a life filled with love, compassion, and unwavering faith that left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

Laura was a devoted wife to Elwood Ray Dupuis, and a loving mother to her five children, Glenn, Mona, Sandra, Keith, and Marlo Dupuis, and his wife Sherry. Her legacy extends further through her grandchildren: Colby Dupuis and his wife, Whitney, Shannoah Newsome and her husband, Josh, Anna Sunderbruch, Chandler Alley, Summer Fore and her husband, Clint, Shelli Franklin and her husband, Ronnie, Chad Dupuis, Sabrina Woodbury, Stacy Wright. She also adored her numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy.

A nurturing presence in the lives of her loved ones, Laura was known as "Mawmaw" and was often described as the rock of her family. Her selflessness and generosity knew no bounds; she took immense pride in hosting beautiful holidays that created cherished memories for her family. A talented cook and dedicated homemaker, she made every gathering special with her warm spirit and love.

Laura's strong faith as a devout Christian was a cornerstone of her life. She was an active member of the Praise Christian Center, (now called Praise Church), and exemplified her beliefs through her actions. Her commitment to helping others was profound, as she sponsored an orphanage in Mexico, demonstrating her compassion and desire to make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate.

Laura is preceded in death by her parents, Desiree and Hilda Babineaux; her husband, Elwood; her two sons, Glenn Dupuis, and Keith Dupuis; and her granddaughter, Ashley Voisin. She is also preceded in death by her siblings, Dorothy Babineaux, and Roland Babineaux.

The family will host a visitation on May 20, 2025, at 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM, both held at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home located at 1155 N 11th St. Beaumont, TX 77702. Burial to follow at Haven of Rest cemetery in Beaumont, TX.

Serving as pallbearers will be Colby Dupuis, Marlo Dupuis, Chad Dupuis, Josh Newsome, and Chandler Alley.

Laura Belle Dupuis will be remembered for her loving nature, her strength, and her devotion to family and faith. Her remarkable spirit will continue to inspire and comfort those who had the privilege of knowing her.
