Nacido en Austin, Texas, el 4 de octubre de 1978, fue hijo de Juan Antonio Cardenas Cardenas y Maria T. Cardenas Garcia. Fue un hombre dedicado a su familia y un trabajador incansable desde la edad de 12 años, cuya presencia impactó profundamente a todos los que lo conocieron. Juan era amante del aire libre y a menudo se le podía encontrar cazando, trabajando o asando al aire libre para su familia y amigos. Su pasión también se extendía a su jardín, donde cultivaba una variedad de plantas, con un cariño especial por sus plantas de chile y flores. Juan trabajó como foreman de soldadores en Gulf Copper, donde su experiencia y liderazgo le ganaron el respeto de sus colegas. Juan Antonio Cardenas Jr., 47, of Orange, Texas, passed away on March 20, 2026,
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Deacon Hector Maldapado. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.
Visitation will be from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m., Monday, March 30, 2026, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange, with a rosary to begin at 6:30 p.m.
Born in Austin, Texas, on October 4, 1978, he was the son of Juan Antonio Cardenas Cardenas and Maria T Cardenas Garcia. He was a dedicated family man and a hard worker from the age of 12, whose presence deeply impacted all who knew him. Juan was an outdoorsman, and could often be found hunting, working or grilling outdoors for family and friends. His passion extended into his garden, where he cultivated a variety of plants, with a particular fondness for his peppers and flowers. Juan worked as a welder foreman at Gulf Copper, where his expertise and leadership earned him the respect of his colleagues. He was a man who always needed to have a project underway, he never wanted to just sit still. Those who knew Juan recognized the contrast between his tough exterior and his soft, protective heart. He always knew how to put a smile on the faces of those he loved with his great sense of humor and funny jokes. He was fiercely protective, especially of his children, wife and extended family, who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Isela Cardenas.
He is survived by his loving wife, M. Elizabeth Cardenas; his parents, Juan and Maria Cardenas; his sons, Alexis E. Cardenas, Erik A. Cardenas, and Christopher A. Cardenas, and Angel I. Cardenas; his siblings, Jesus Cardenas, Yesenia Cardenas, Rocio Chavez; his nieces, Stephanie Franco and Darline Pintor, whom he helped raise as his own; as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, and loving family members and friends.
