John Thomas Trahan

June 23, 1963 — April 23, 2024

John Thomas Trahan, aged 60, of Orange, TX, was tragically taken from us on April 23, 2024, in a devastating auto accident. Born on June 23, 1963, John spent most of his life in or near the town he cherished, making significant contributions through his skilled work as a Senior Piping Designer and other roles in the engineering and construction sectors.

John proudly achieved six years of sobriety this April, a testament to his strength and dedication to his faith and recovery. His journey inspired many, characterized by his profound gratitude for life's blessings. A true hero, John's selflessness was exemplified when he donated a kidney to his cousin Aimee without hesitation. Indeed, his life was a testament to service and generosity, always eager to help and uplift those in need, much like his mother and father.

A lifelong baseball enthusiast, John adored the Astros and played the sport passionately until a swimming accident broke his neck in his youth. Despite this setback, he continued to share his love for the game by coaching and umpiring, influencing young athletes in his community.

John loved life's simple joys, such as riding his Harley, scuba diving, and cooking, deeply embracing his Cajun heritage with every delicious dish he prepared. He leaves behind a legacy of love and caring, survived by his children Madison Trahan, Dakota Dallas (Mason); grandchildren Knox and Essie Sloane; big sisters Zona Trahan, Connie Powell (Dennis), Sharla Marshall (Glen), Tanya Goldbeck; and his beloved dog, Whitey. He was predeceased by his parents, Clarence J. "Junior" Trahan and Charlene Bryan Trahan, and his chocolate lab, Brandy. John is also fondly remembered by many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Traci's Texas Tails, reflecting John's deep love for animals. Venmo is @TracisTexasTails
