John Naumczik

John Naumczik
John Naumczik, age 87, of Beaumont, TX, passed away at Hermann Memorial Baptist Hospital June 2, 2007. He was born in Chicago, IL on February 2, 1920 and had resided in Beaumont since 1974. He went in the Army in 1941 and was stationed in Fort Crockett, TX. He married his wife, Ruth Wiltz of Port Arthur, on June 15, 1944.
John was a Radar Section Chief while stationed in Galveston. He then went into the Army infantry and served in Germany and France with the 70th Division as a platoon sergeant. Mr. Naumczik was awarded the Purple Heart which he was proud to wear.
He belonged to the VFW Post 4820, Port Neches, TX and helped build the Veteran Memorial Park in Port Arthur. He was so proud to contribute his help and was especially proud to be a veteran. John was a retired electrician retired from Velsicol Chemical, now BASF, and a member of Assumption Catholic Church.
Mr. Naumczik is preceded in death by his parents, George and Tatiana Naumczik, grandson, Steve Ellison, sisters, Olga Mispagel and Alice Shultis, and half-brother, Joseph Kowbel. He is survived by his wife, Ruth; daughter, Darlene Ellison of Beaumont; son, Gary Naumczik of Beaumont; grandson, Michael Naumczik of Dallas, granddaughter, Stacey Naumczik of Wisconsin; brothers, George Naumczik of LaGrange, IL and James Naumczik of Oak Lawn, IL; sisters, Anna Johnson of Florida; Jenny Roubal of Western Springs, IL, and Mary Kistulenic of Berwyn, IL, great granddaughters, Monica and Angelina of Wisconsin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 6 @ 1:30 p.m. with interment to follow in Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Funeral Home.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to Doctor and Mrs. George Zuzukin and staff for their exceptional and compassionate care of John these many years.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Veterans Memorial Park through VFW Post 4820, PO Box 83, Port Neches, TX 77651.
