Jimmie Paul Allen

Jimmie Paul Allen was born at home in Angelina County, Texas on January 12, 1940, son of Pauline (Moran) and Garnie Matthews Allen.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at First United Methodist Church in Orange, Texas. Officiating will be Lani Rousseau First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange, Texas.

Visitation will take place at 9:00 a.m., Wednesday, at First United Methodist Church.

He was a 1964 graduate of Lamar State College in Beaumont, Texas and several years later became a registered engineer.

Jimmie worked for Lufkin Foundry for five years. In 1969 he moved to Beaumont, Texas to work for E.I. DuPont Company and soon was transferred by them to plants in South Carolina and Delaware. He worked for DuPont for 29 years before deciding to be self-employed in a variety of projects in Orange, Texas for seven years.

Jimmie loved the outdoors and was a hunter, fisherman, and boating enthusiast. He traveled extensively with his wife, Carol, in the United States and overseas. He enjoyed gardening and wood working projects.

He was a faithful member of several Methodist churches and served on many committees in each one. He enjoyed being part of the Emmaus community and went on the first men’s walk in Orange.

Jimmie’s greatest joy was time spent with his family and friends. Happy times were spent at the beach house on Crystal Beach watching his grandchildren playing.

He was preceeded in death by his parents and two sisters, Mavis Broomfield and Dollie Weir.

He is survived by his brother, Leonard Allen, his wife, Carol Robinson Allen, sons Matthew Allen and wife, Brenda, and Stephen Allen Sr. and wife Theresa of Orange; grandchildren Stephen Allen Jr. and wife Kiersten of Mauriceville, Caitlin Parks and husband Nick of West Orange, John Allen and wife Mallory of Orange, Joseph Allen of Beaumont, and Joshua Allen of Orange; seven great-grandchildren (and one on the way.) As well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be John Allen, Joey Allen, Josh Allen, Stephen Allen, Jr., Conner Allen, and Nicholas Parks.
