Mr. Gronning, 70, was born June 11, 1936 in Seattle, WA to Crist and Ida Gronning and passed away June 7, 2007 in Beaumont where he had resided for the past 35 years.
He created, manufactured, and sold the popular car fragrance, ?Ju-Ju? which was named after his granddaughter and means ?burst of charm?. Mr. Gronning loved family gatherings and playing straight dominoes. Words to describe ?Ju-Ju? would be that he was a strong-willed and loving man who donated much of his time and money to the West End AA. He was a giving mentor to many members of that organization for 24 years.
Survivors include his wife, Georgia ?Eileen? Gronning of Beaumont and from the Seattle, Washington area his sons, Ronald and wife, Kyra, Donald and wife, Robin, Danny and wife, Andrea, and Randal and wife, Tracey; and their children, Ronald, Dalton, Darby, Nicholas, Jennifer, Sean, Krystal, Tamara, Courtney, Savannah, Collin, Kayla, Trista, Noah and Jaiden, and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving Mr. Gronning in the local area are his daughter, Kay Kirby and husband Jim of Town Bluff, TX; and grandchildren, Julie Harris and husband, Bryan of Arizona; Matt Sheffield and wife, Stacie of Lumberton; Mike Sheffield and wife, Jenni of Forney, Texas; Chad Kirby and wife Noel, of Spring and Jimmy Kirby III of Beaumont and twelve great-grandchildren; and one surviving sister, Karen Hall of Federal Way, Washington. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Harold Gronning.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Texas Home Health Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to this organization at 5683 Eastex Freeway, Beaumont, TX 77703 or the West End AA at 1899 East IH 10, Beaumont, TX 77701.
