Jerome Hartman, 77, died Tuesday, May 15, 2007, at his residence in Zavalla, TX.
A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 18, 2007, at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.
Officiating will be Reverend Bob Boone of First Baptist Church of Bridge City.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., Friday, preceding the service at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Bridge City.
Mr. Hartman was born June 7, 1929, in Kaplan, LA, to Oliver Joseph and Louise Trahan Hartman.
Mr. Hartman former resident of Bridge City retired from Sabine Transportation Company in Port Arthur after 35 years, where he worked as a Merchant Marine. He was a member of the Baptist faith and was very kind and caring to all who knew him. He will be dearly missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Louise Hartman, two brothers and three sisters.
He is survived by his children, Joseph A. Hartman of Lesterville, SD, Sherry L. Richmond of Oakdale, LA and, Jerome Evans Hartman of Newton; grandchildren, Wendy, Angel, Holly and Autumn; eight great grandchildren; brother, Levy Hartman of Orange and sister in law, Polly Hartman of Bridge City. Surviving him also are Genevieve and Leon Williams who were his loving caregivers during his illness.
