James Hennigan

January 10, 1929 — July 9, 2007

James Hennigan, 78, entered into eternal peace Monday, July 9, 2007 at Christus St. Mary Hospital in Port Arthur.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 13, 2007, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Liz Windham of Lighthouse Tabernacle and Reverend Marty Clayburn of Bethel Baptist.
Burial will follow at Brown Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, at Claybar Funeral Home.
Mr. Hennigan was a native of Merryville, LA and lived the majority of his life in Orange. He was a member of Lighthouse Tabernacle in Orange where he served as treasurer. He studied the Bible at the Maranatha Christian Center. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion and VFW. Mr. Hennigan was a retired Army Veteran whose 21-year army career included service in the Korean War and tours in Japan and Germany. He loved to play the guitar and sing gospel music.
He was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of six of his children, Chiyoko Nakano Hennigan; his father Burl Hennigan; mother Ada Burch Hennigan; daughter Tammy Hennigan; siblings, Lottie Lampman, Patsy Hudson, June Savage, Ruth Belcher, and Ralph Hennigan.
Those left behind to cherish his memory include his wife, Mae Hendrix Hennigan of Orange; sons, Mike Hennigan and wife Caroline of Orange, Tony Hennigan and wife Maggie of Orange; daughters Patty Morris of Johnson Bayou, LA, Carolyn Roland and husband Bill of China, TX, Janice Hollingsworth and husband Donnie of Mauriceville, Margie Falgout and husband Tony of Nederland, and Ann Carr of Vidor; two step sons, Eddie Hendrix and wife Debbie of Ridgeville, South Carolina and Jimmy Hendrix of Orange; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mr. Hennigan came from a family of ten children. The surviving siblings are Johnnie Smith of Orange, Jean Hennigan of Jasper, Burllean Robertson of California, KY, and Bob Hennigan of Hemphill.
Serving as pallbearers will be Lee Hennigan, Jeramy Webb, Don Morris, Dale Morris, Shon Hennigan, and Eddie Hendrix.
Honorary pallbearers are devoted friend and brother-in-law Billy Smith and Fellow Veteran, Joe Bergeron.
