Ivan Ray Dixson, age 62, was born on December 18, 1963, and passed away on March 20, 2026, in Houston, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, March 27, 2026, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City, Texas. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange, Texas. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 12:00 pm, Friday, March 27, 2026, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City, Texas. Ivan lived a life defined by his unwavering work ethic, generous spirit, and deep love for those closest to him. Known affectionately by those who knew him as the embodiment of a "simple man," Ivan carried a quiet strength and humor that made him both reliable and endearing. He was a hard worker and a jack of all trades, dedicating much of his life to his craft as a pipefitter. His hard working hands now rest. Yet, beyond his career achievements, it was his giving nature and selflessness that truly marked his character. Ivan never sought anything for himself but made sure that others around him were provided for and cared about with great devotion. When Ivan wasn’t working, you would find him in the woods, or in his bedroom chair snuggled up with his dog. He was the true definition of a simple man- he enjoyed his humble home on a single acre of land that he loved to mow. His favorite place to be was at the deer lease, with his buddies, his guns, and a fire. Ivan was the happiest PawPaw to his grandchildren, Audi- who he selflessly raised from age 3 to 13, and Brody and Nat Nat, who he adored more than anything. He never stopped at their house without something to make them smile - a beef jerky stick and a tub of cotton candy. Ivan is survived by his daughter Casey Spruell and her husband Caleb; his sons Benjamin Dixson, Ivan Dixson Jr., and Derrick Landry; his devoted mother Sofia Dixson; his girlfriend Mary Berwick; his sisters Lana Thomas and her husband Eddie, and Sonia Dixson; as well as Rebecca Dixson, the mother of his children. Ivan was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Dixson. Serving as pallbearers will be Benjamin Dixson, Derrick Landry, Ivan Dixson Jr., Caleb Spruell, Eddie Thomas, Daniel Duncan, Derwin Dixson, and Wes Perkins. People who were known by Ivan, are often people to speak highly of the man, friend, dad, brother or son he was. We are heartbroken, but find peace knowing Ivan is in Heaven, sitting happily in his deer stand.

Forever, we love you.
