Hilma Ruth Crew, 98, of Orange, Texas, passed away on January 31, 2026, at Stonewood Senior Living.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Shane Weaver. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.
Visitation will begin prior to the service at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Orange, Texas, on August 21, 1927, she was the daughter of Wilson Boulet and Myrtle (Sarver) Boulet. She worked for the Civil Service at the Orange Naval Base from 1944 until 1975. Hilma was a cherished member of her community, deeply involved in her church, where she participated in the choir and missions. She was known for her beautiful sewing skills and made many contributions through her work, showcasing her passion as a seamstress. Her love for her family was evident, and she found joy in planning potlucks and playing Dominos with her friends in the Joy Club at church. Throughout her life, Hilma was admired for her commitment to community service. She was a lifetime member of the Orange First Church of the Nazarene, a member of the Bengal Guards, and the Little Cypress Lions Club. Hilma will be remembered for her kind spirit, her deep involvement in the community, and the love she shared with those around her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Wilson and Myrtle Boulet; husband, Earl Crew; son, Earl Crew, Jr.; sisters, Mabel Boulet, Ema Feldman and husband Louis.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Troy and Sandy Bland of Orangefield, Alicia and Rene Dominguez of New Braunfels and their children Josphine, Cora, and Giovanni, Jason and Jilliann Bland of Orange and their children, Elliott and Nathan, Michael Duane Bland of Houston and his children Emma, Kate, and Sara; numerous other loving family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Orange First Church of the Nazarene at 3810 Martin Luther King Jr Dr Orange, TX 77632.
