Gary Dale Green
Gary Dale Green, 55, passed peacefully on September 30th, 2024 after fighting an almost 8 year battle with Colon Cancer. Gary was born on October 25th, 1968 in Orange, Tx to Nita “Rusty” Green and Kenneth Green. He graduated from West Orange Stark High School in 1987. Gary excelled in math and in the athletic department, mainly baseball. Through his love of sports Gary made friendships that would last a lifetime both from his own team and others in his district, league and whoever he ran across at the practice fields, as he never met a stranger. Gary was invited to play for the Panola Jr. College but decided he wanted to stay close to home, where his family was. He attended and graduated from Lamar Institute of Technology with his Associates degree. Following graduation, Gary went on to work at Featherlight and Honeywell before settling in at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Plant, where he worked for almost 30 years. Just because Gary had clocked out, didn’t mean he stopped working, as he loved his job and spent many hours helping his co-workers. He enjoyed his time in the outdoors fishing and hunting, but more often than not you could find him in “Gary’s Garage” blasting his tunes and building his latest project, he was never still, unless he was asleep. Although Gary had a job and hobbies he loved, being a Dad was his proudest accomplishment. He adored his wife and daughters and would have given anything just to put a smile on their faces. Gary was preceded in death by his wife Melody Fruge Green, father Kenneth Green, father-in-law Elgie Fruge, brother-in-law Matt Cook, nephew Matthew Cook, Uncles Gene and Gerald Green, Uncle Bobby Goodman, and cousin Danny. He is survived by his two daughters Abby Dale Green and Anna Kay Green, mother Nita “Rusty” Green, brother and sister Casey Green and Kelly Kimbrough, son-in-laws Mason Forbes and Jace Nunnelly, grandchildren Buck & Aspyn Forbes, brother and sister-in-laws Jana Green, John Kimbrough, Vicki & Louis Oceguera, Debbie Fruge, and Jay & Jodi Fruge. He was the best Uncle Gary to his nieces and nephews - Ryan & Grant Kimbrough, Blayne & Keeton Addison, Hunter & Makenzie Fountain, Sarah Fruge, Jessica & Dustin Everett, Tara & Jay Gooden, Carrie Jo Moton, Gage & Keely Green, and Blake Martin. Gary was loved by many other great nieces and nephews, family members and friends. The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life for Gary at 53 E Harding Circle, Orange, Texas on Saturday October the 12th from 3:00 - 5:00 pm and ask that everyone wear the color green.
