Born in Port Arthur, Texas, on June 27, 1940, she was the daughter of Alvie Duett and Hazel Duett. Gail was a woman of many talents and interests, with a particular fondness for cooking. Her culinary skills were showcased in the 1970s when her team proudly won first place at a local gumbo cookoff. Those fortunate enough to gather around her table were often treated to not just a meal, but a feast prepared with love and care. Her grandchildren called her “Mammie,” a name that spoke volumes about the love and affection she shared with them. Gail's faith was a significant part of her life. While she was a devout Catholic, she also embraced the fellowship found at the Cowboy Church in Orange, where she attended services with her son. In celebrating Gail Ann Green's life, we remember a woman who touched many lives with her cooking, her love as a grandmother, and her unwavering faith. Her legacy will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her, making the world a brighter place through her generous spirit and loving nature.
Preceded in death by her parents, Alvie and Hazel Duett; her loving husband, Gerald Green; her brother, Norman Duett; and her sister, Linda Freeman.
