Frances Jane Smith

Frances Jane Smith, aged 83, passed away peacefully on February 16 at Summer Place in Beaumont, TX where she spent the final years of her life. She was born on February 29, 1940 in Shreveport, LA to Gladys and David Lingenfelter. She graduated with a bachelor's degree from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA and completed a master's in psychiatric nursing. She enjoyed a long and varied nursing career, including serving in the Air Force and as a faculty member at Lamar University. Jane was an accomplished pianist and photographer, giving joy to many others through her art. She had a disarming goodness and sense of humor. Jane is mourned by her three siblings, Melanie Tang, Davida Brunovs and Jon Lingenfelter. Jane was loved and cared for by Karen Nield and family, of Beaumont, who visited her often.
