Eunice Williams Rubel

Eunice Louise Rubel, 84, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on December 15, 2023, in Port Arthur, Texas.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 21, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Entombment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.

Born in Oak Grove, Louisiana, on June 12, 1939, she was the daughter of David Frank Williams and Ruth Dupree Williams. Eunice worked as a florist for many years where she loved making beautiful arrangements. She was also a longtime member of First Church of God in Port Arthur. She enjoyed doing crafts in her free time such as coloring, crocheting, and making gifts for those she loved. In her younger years Eunice was a great deer hunter, and more recently spent her time playing the many games she had on her iPad. Eunice could make anyone laugh and often made friends wherever she went. Eunice had a wonderful and loving soul and will be deeply missed.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Paul F. Rubel; her parents, David and Ruth Williams; and brothers, Ray Williams, Thomas Williams, Kirkland Williams, Pat Williams, Ferrel Williams, Olen Williams, Joe Williams, and Warren Williams.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Mary Ann LeBlanc, Robert Rubel and wife, Ning, and Joey Rubel; her grandchildren, Danielle LeBlanc McNamara and husband, Jonathan, Brittany Rubel, RJ Rubel, and Sherry Gibbs and husband, Richard; her great-grandchildren, Matthew and Michael Scully; her siblings, Dale Williams, Gail Williams, Edna Farrell, and Blanche Harkness; along with numerous other loving family and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Joey Rubel, Robert Rubel, Jonathan McNamara, Dudley LeBlanc, Darlene Pelaez, and Paul “Randy” Pelaez.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Eunice’s honor to First Church of God at 3800 Jimmy Johnson Blvd, Port Arthur, TX 77642.
