David Ray Poole

David Ray Poole, 71, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on June 22, 2025, in Bridge City.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Officiating will be Reverend Jack Comer of Circle Drive Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.

Born in Jena, Louisiana, on August 31, 1953, he was the son of Virgil Ray Poole and Melba Bigner Poole. He lived a life rich in love, faith, and cherished memories. David was a devoted husband and father, known for his unwavering support and dedication to his family. An avid hunter, David found joy in the great outdoors, which brought him not only adventure but also peace. His greatest delight came from spoiling his grandchildren, who lovingly referred to him as "Poppa." The bond he shared with them was a testament to his nurturing spirit and the love he radiated. A faithful member of Circle Drive Baptist Church, David's love for the Lord was central to his life. His faith guided his actions and was a source of strength for him. He was respected and admired by many for his kindness and commitment to his beliefs. David leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion that will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him. His warm heart and joyful spirit will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Melba Poole; and his brothers, Steve Poole, and Darron Poole.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Debbie Poole; his daughter, Rebekah Daily and husband, Shane, of Bridge City; his grandchildren, Eli Daily, and Graham Daily; his sister, Dena Ray and husband, Keith; his “adopted” sons, Henry Muery, and Michael Muery and wife, Cayla; and numerous other loving family members and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Muery, Henry Muery, Marcus Bourque, Mitchell Bourque, Kaleb Graham, Bruce Gibson, Jr., and Josh Poole. Honorary pallbearers are Ronnie Shugart, Bo Graham, Bruce Gibson, Sr., and John Istre..
