Born in Orange, Texas, on December 8, 1948, he was the son of Joe Bellard and Hazel (Morgan) Bellard. He was a devoted ship fitter supervisor at Levingston Ship Building starting in 1970 and dedicated many years to his work until he concluded his career at Orange Ship Building in 2010. David was known for always staying busy. He loved working on his farm with his son, and spending time with his grandkids was something he cherished deeply. He enjoyed sharing his love for the land, riding horses, and instilling in them the values of hard work and dedication. In his leisure time, David took pleasure in watching old westerns, rodeos, and cheering for the Astros. His family, especially his grandkids, brought him immense pride, and he wore the title of “Pa” with joy. David leaves behind a loving legacy reflected in the hearts and memories of those who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Hazel Bellard; brother, Bill Bellard; and his mother and father-in-law, Della and Rufus Burton.
