Born in Iota, Louisiana, on October 6, 1941, he was the son of George Lanthier and Mattie Dora (Thompson) Lanthier. Brad was a dedicated builder who took great pride in creating and fixing things with his hands. He had a practical, down-to-earth approach to every project and was always ready to help bring something to life. During the time he owned his own company, Brad was known not just for his work, but for the way he treated people — he never turned away someone in need and often gave second chances to those who others might have overlooked. He believed in lifting others up and gave many the opportunity to start fresh.

He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and remained a faithful member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Bridge City, Texas. His early involvement in the church left a lasting impression — he especially enjoyed teaching Bible study and connecting with others through faith.

Brad was known for his easygoing nature and generous heart. He truly never met a stranger. Whether through a warm smile, a helping hand, or simply a good conversation, he made people feel seen and valued. He loved music and dancing, had a lifelong fondness for westerns — especially Gunsmoke — and found joy in traveling and discovering new places.

Brad will be remembered most for his kindness, his willingness to uplift others, and the joy he brought to everyone around him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mattie Lanthier; and daughter, Wendy Lanthier.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Donna Lanthier; daughters, Karri Stelly and husband Charles, Shonda Townsley and husband William; grandchildren, Rory Piccone, Andrew Minner and wife Hannah, Garret Minner, Mylah Heiner and husband Wesley, Anders Townsley, and Harrison Townsley; Great grandchildren, Kaden Stelly, Emma Snider, Wendilyn Minner, Andi Minner, and Maverick Heiner; sister, Kim Clark and numerous other loving family and friends.
