Bessie Roberts Rach, 94, of Orange died Friday, July 27, 2007, at the Meadows in Orange. She was a life member of the American Red Cross, The Texas Council of PTA, and the United Methodist Women. She was also a long time volunteer at Orange Memorial Hospital and Baptist Hospital, Orange. ?Mrs. Bessie? taught fourth grade Sunday school at First Methodist Church, Orange, for 66 years.
Having moved to Orange at the age of 13 from Alabama, she was a proud graduate of Orange High School.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Frank B. Rach Jr.; her parents, Henry David and Ludie Brantley Roberts; her brother, Henry Roberts and her sister, Ludie Roberts Durham.
Survivors include her sons, Frank B. Rach III and wife, Barbara of Little Cypress, William B. Rach and wife, Irma of Houstondaughter, Judith Rach Hubbard and husband, Don of McLewis Community; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 29, 2007, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange with burial at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery in West Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Rob Fisher and Reverend Terry Brown of the First Methodist Church in Orange.
Visitation will be 5:00 ? 9:00 p.m., Sunday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Pallbearers will be Gerald Frank Rach, Dr. Robert Byerly, Mark Theobald, Stephen LeBlanc, Dan Rach Jr., Dr. Tom Rach, Craig Cormier, and Jared Hutchison.
Memorial contributions may be given to the First United Methodist Church, 502 N. 6th St., Orange, TX 77630, or the Children?s Tumor Foundation, 95 Pine St., 16th Floor, New York, N.Y. 10269-0741
