Barbara Jean Whitrock, 91, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on August 19, 2025, at home.

Born in Champagne County, Ohio, on June 27, 1934, she was the daughter of Richard and Elizabeth Gould.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Edward Whitrock; parents, Richard and Elizabeth Gould; brothers Richard Gould and Buddy Gould; grandchildren, Leah Whitrock and Timothy Whitrock.

She is survived by her son, Martin Whitrock and wife Darnella; daughters, Valerie Richter and husband Doug, and Sherry Martz; thirteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; as well as other loving family and friends.

Cremation will be held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Her Celebration of Life will be held at St. Paul Methodist Church, 1155 W. Roundbunch Rd., Bridge City. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 24, 2025, from 1:00-2:00 with service starting at 2:00.

Those who wish to send flowers may have them delivered to the church Saturday from 10:00-12:00.

In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to The Richter Food Program @ St. Paul’s, Wounded Warriors and St. Jude’s all of which she supported for many years.
