Anna Mae Caillier

January 5, 1929 — February 15, 2026

Anna Mae was born in 1929 in Catahoula, Louisiana. During World War II, her family relocated to Orange when the shipyards and the city were booming with wartime industry.

During those years, Anna Mae worked at various jobs, including the Bengal Theater in Orange and Buccaneer restaurant in Bridge City. In her free time, she enjoyed going to dances with her sisters, cousins, and friends’ memories she cherished throughout her life.

After the war ended, her family returned to Catahoula, but Anna Mae chose to remain in Orange. It was then she met the love of her life, Paul Caillier of Arnaudville, LA.

Anna Mae and Paul were later married and made their home in West Orange, where they lovingly raised their three children in the same house she continued to live in for many years. They were blessed with 55 wonderful years of marriage, building a life centered on faith, family, and love. Together, they treasured visits with family and friends in Buna, Catahoula, St. Martinville, New Iberia, Breaux Bridge, Arnaudville, Broussard, and Youngsville, along with many other places where lifelong friendships were cherished.

Anna Mae was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt to many. She delighted in spending time with her family and friends and was especially known for her cooking and hospitality. She was also a talented seamstress who made clothes for family and friends, including cheer uniforms and beautiful prom dresses.

A devoted Catholic, Anna Mae faithfully prayed for her family and friends and especially loved praying the Rosary. She gave generously of her time at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Orange, Texas. She never met a stranger and welcomed everyone with warmth and kindness.

Throughout the years, she was actively involved in many church organizations, including the Catholic Daughters Society (1956), The Altar Society, the church choir, the soup kitchen ministry, Pray Chain and Eucharistic Adoration. Her faith and service were cornerstones of her life. Other organizations she was a member of was American Legion Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars of The United States.

Her beautiful smile and loving spirit will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
